French firm Citroën was founded in 1919 and was the first company to mass-produce cars outside of the USA. It has built several iconic cars over the years including the 2CV and the DS. Today Citroën produces a wide range of cars, including small city cars such as the C1 as well as design-led cars such as the DS3.

Citroën also competes against the likes of the Ford Focus with its Citroën C4 hatchback and has launched a popular people carrier, the C4 Picasso and the larger Grand C4 Picasso. Citroen also has other family cars including the C5 and DS5 aimed at company car drivers, plus the more utilitarian Berlingo Multispace.

Citroën is a company with a history of innovation. Andre Citroën, who set up the marque, used the Eiffiel Tower as a billboard for his company and claimed a Guinness World Record for the largest advertising sign in the process.

The cars the company built also demonstrated an innovative approach to car technology and design. The 2CV was a best-seller thanks to its simple construction, cheap purchase price and distinctive looks, while the DS saw the first full use of self-levelling suspension as well as being the first European car with disc brakes.
